Online Business Listings

Online business directories are a way for consumers to find your practice via search. To make sure you provide helpful information, make sure your “NAP” (name, address and phone) are correct on these sites. On most of these listings, you can also provide other information such as a link to your website, business hours and photos. Google, Bing, Yelp, SuperPages, Facebook, LinkedIn Company Directory, MapQuest, Yellowbook, ThumbTack, Apple Maps, and health related directories are all business listings where your practice could be listed.
Google
It may seem overwhelming to manage so many business listings, so we are going to focus on Google My Business. Google is the largest search engine with over 63,000 searches happening every second. And a study by WebEX found that 46 percent of those searches are people looking for local businesses.
This is why it is crucial to ensure that you have created a Google My Business or claimed your page if it already exists.
First, do a search for your business to see if a listing has been automatically generated. If this is the case, you’ll want to claim this listing so you can update the information, add photos and have access to the analytics.
